Research Interests
My specific areas of research interest are the Roman and late Roman economy, the characterisation of urban and rural form, and the study of formation processes. I am also interested in developing archaeological methodologies, including ways of integrating field walking and excavation results for the study of urban centres in their rural context and the use of multivariate approaches to extracting information from integrated datasets of all the finds recovered from a project, not just separate finds types.
I am currently writing up the pottery recovered from the excavations of the C6-C7 church at Ras el Bassit, Syria. This will be a single volume and comprises the analysis of the pottery with respect to dating, supply, formation processes, use and functional analysis.
