![]() The main Tile related story on my newsfeeds is about a find at Vindolanda: http://www.culture24.org.uk/history-and-heritage/archaeology/art530621-archaeologists-find-human-footprint-left-by-naughty-teenager-2000-years-ago-at-roman-fort The figure of 6000 leather boots is quite astounding as well! Human and animal prints are by far the aspect of tile studies that catch most attention. I have talks about them before: http://www.archaeologicalceramics.com/blog/animal-prints so I don’t want to repeat myself too much . The only unshod human foot print I have seen is one from near St Albans, alongside some fingerprints Otherwise most are boot prints, and all I've seen are with hobnails ( Cf: https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/view/16474378/shoes-in-roman-time-typology ) |
